Advanced Proposal Writing Series

October 1, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Tuesday, October 01, 2019 9:30 AM–3:30 PM  Main (Oakland)

This series of three full-day sessions is designed for those who have a basic understanding of grants and want to develop more expertise in writing proposals to foundations in Southwestern Pennsylvania.  Each session is packed with in-depth PowerPoint instruction, exercises, template tools and proposal examples to assist attendees in developing a Common Grant Application and briefer versions for online grant applications with character limits.  Attendees have the option of developing or revising their own non-deadline grant application for a program, capital project or general support with small group feedback and instructor coaching at each session.  Participants must attend the sessions for which they are registered in order to receive the electronic tools afterward.  The instructor will award a Certificate of Completion to individuals who attend all three sessions and produce a complete grant application.

Our speaker is Katherine F.H. Heart, GPC, M.Ed., President of Heart Resources, LLC.  Katherine has offered comprehensive grant services resulting in $22+ million for Western PA organizations since 2002 and has provided grant training at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, as well as other local/national organizations for 11 years.  She earned the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential and was the first person designated an Approved Trainer by the Grant Professionals Association.  Katherine is the author of GrantepreneurTM–Getting Started in a Grant Career and Business (Red Engine Press, 2016), and a Co-Organizer of the Grants Café.

The total fee to attend all three sessions is $90 which is payable at the first session on October 1 and is nonrefundable.  The fee to attend an individual session is $35 per person.  Space is limited and registration for either the entire series or an individual session is required by calling the Nonprofit Resource Center at 412.622.6277.
