Advanced Proposal Writing, Session 1

October 1, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Tuesday, October 02, 2018 9:30 AM–3:30 PM  Main (Oakland)

Planning Multi-Funder Proposals, and Polishing Organizational Capacity and Need Statements
Learn how to: (1) monitor funding trends and grant opportunities; (2) develop a pre-proposal plan and initial inquiry; (3) identify multiple funders that match the agency and project needs; (4) polish organizational information into a succinct and engaging capacity statement; and (5) present compelling problem/need data and information for the geographic area and populations served.

The Advanced Proposal Writing Series is designed for those who have a basic understanding of grants and want to develop more expertise in writing proposals to foundations.  Each of the three sessions features in-depth PowerPoint instruction and exercises to assist attendees in developing a complete Common Grant Application, and also prepare briefer sections and attachments to fit online applications requiring limited characters.  Individuals will be able to develop or revise their own non-deadline grant application with small group feedback and instructor coaching.  Participants must attend sessions for which they are registered in order to receive the electronic tools.
