April 2017 Thought Leader Roundtable: Increasing Alignment Between Social and Emotional Learning and Out-of-School Time

April 13, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

These candid, unscripted conversations feature Karen Pittman with some of the most influential, boundary-pushing leaders working to improve the lives of children and youth.

This upcoming session will feature Katie Brackenridge, Vice President of Programs for the Partnership for Children & Youth, based in Oakland, Calif., and will focus on how states and localities can align their school and out-of-school time (OST) systems – particularly as it relates to social and emotional learning (SEL). These systems often work with the same children, but do not always coordinate in ways that can ensure greater communication and better outcomes. The conversation will focus on some of the lessons learned in California and the challenges that remain for aligning the K-12 and OST systems to support youth.
