Demystifying Endowment Giving: A Discussion with The Pittsburgh Foundation about Planned Giving and Donor Stewardship
Tuesday, May 16, 2017 10:30 AM–12:30 PM Main (Oakland)

The Pittsburgh Foundation was established in 1945 and is one of the nation’s oldest and largest community foundations.  The foundation works to improve the quality of life in the Pittsburgh region by evaluating and addressing community issues, promoting responsible philanthropy, and connecting donors to the critical needs of the community.

Please join our special guest speakers from The Pittsburgh Foundation for an informative discussion about how an endowment works, the differences between a private and community foundation, and planned giving and stewardship best practices.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions regarding The Pittsburgh Foundation’s funding priorities, its application process and the variety of funding streams it may provide to the nonprofit community in this region.  The speakers will be:

Kelly Uranker, Director, Center for Philanthropy at The Pittsburgh Foundation.  Kelly works closely with the Program and Development staff to develop and implement tailored educational programs for the Foundation’s donor community.  She also oversees the planning and implementation of all online giving initiatives, including Day of Giving and the Critical Needs Alert.

Lindsay Aroesty, Director of Donor Services and Planned Giving Specialist for The Pittsburgh Foundation.  Lindsay helps the Foundation’s current donors achieve their philanthropic mission during their lifetimes and also through planned giving opportunities, when donors leave a more permanent charitable legacy.

There is no fee to attend this program which will be held in the International Poetry Room.  However, space is limited and registration is required by calling the Nonprofit Resource Center at 412.622.6277.
