ETC Playtest Workshop 1: Playtest to Explore

September 6, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

September 6 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Cost | Free

Event Description | Playtesting is all about getting people to come play your game to see if it engenders the experience for which it was designed. And while the other three types of testing (usability testing, quality assurance [QA], focus groups) are useful and important, in these workshops we will focus on a critical type of testing specific to game and entertainment experience designers: playtesting.

This first workshop focuses on using playtesting to explore a design space. It emphasizes problem finding, exploratory methods, and interpreting qualitative data.

The workshop series has been co-created as a collaboration between Carnegie Mellon University’s Human Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) and the Entertainment Technology Center (ETC).
