Fred Rogers Center Teacher Technology Convening

Digital media is becoming a prevalent part of our everyday lives, including in the classroom. At the Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media, we aim to understand and amplify practices for technology use in early childhood classroom settings in the context of human relationships.

With the support of the Grable Foundation, we’ve spent two years observing and meeting with Kindergarten and 1st Grade teachers in the region. Our aim was to understand what technology looks like in everyday classrooms, how teachers are balancing new technologies with existing practice, and how we can strive for equitable access to technology.

We now have an exciting opportunity to dig deeper into this conversation. We are hosting a convening of elementary school teachers from Western PA to discuss successes, challenges, and common practices related to integrating technology in the classroom. Our goal is to learn from one another and to create resources for administrators, educators, and families about this topic.

The event will take place on Saturday November 16 from 9:00-1:00 at Nova Place. We will provide a $75 stipend and Act 48 credit as well as breakfast and lunch for attendees.
