OPDC’s Future Makers: Build a Bright Future enrichment program offers 7th-12th grade youth the opportunity to learn about college and careers. We invite a wealth of agency partners to give students hands-on experiences in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), business, arts, health care, and college preparation. Future Makers participants develop new skills, meet professionals, and explore areas of interest.

Our program is offered in three 12-week sessions, from fall to spring.  With each trimester, students attend six “Maker Days,” during which they learn directly from industry professionals, establish career goals, and prepare for success in college. “Maker Days” occur two Saturdays per month and are between two and four hours in length at convenient neighborhood locations.

Through Future Makers, students become confident in public speaking, clear and articulate in interviews, earn certifications to boost their skill set, write top-notch resumes, and create a plan for their future.
