Grants Cafe

July 26, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Wednesday, July 26, 2017
12:00 PM to 1:30 PM

Panera Bread, 5430 Centre Avenue

The topic of the next Grants Café will be Best Practices for Annual Grants Planning led by Laurie Anderson, GPC.

Description: How often do you read about a grant opportunity just weeks before the deadline and have to scramble to put an application together – or maybe have to forego the opportunity altogether? Do staff come to you asking for funding the month before they launch a new program? Do you feel overwhelmed by too many deadlines? Laurie will share practices for annual grants planning she has learned over the years, and the group will discuss coping strategies.

Laurie Anderson, GPC has been the Grants & Special Projects Coordinator of the Allegheny County Library Association since 2014. She recently became part-time in order to start her grant consulting business, L. Anderson Consulting, LLC. Laurie has more than 25 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector, which began when she became the Founding Manager of the Foundation Center (Nonprofit Resource Center) at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Laurie is a member of the Grant Professionals Association, was a founding member and officer of the GPA-Western PA Chapter. She earned her Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential in August 2016.

Meetings are always on the LAST Wednesday of each month except August and December. Please suggest issues you’d like to discuss in the comments section, and be sure to check back regularly as we update monthly events. Thank you!
