Non profit Resource Center: Planning Giving 101

Dead people give more money to charity every year than all of the corporations in the U.S. combined. But many fund raisers find planned giving to be intimidating and believe they need a law degree, which means they leave this money on the table. Spend a morning getting a clear understanding of basic planned gifts like bequests, charitable gift annuities, and others. Then we’ll talk about who in your database is ripe for these gifts and how to go about marketing them.
These two fun, dynamic and ridiculously knowledgeable presenters promise a session that is full of take-home ideas and completely jargon-free:
Karen Petrucelli, CFRE, is President of KP Consulting, a specialized professional fundraising firm she founded in 2001. KP Consulting provides comprehensive consulting services to assist non-profit boards and staff to evaluate, plan and executive effective fundraising programs. Karen is a thirty year veteran of the fundraising profession and is a Certified Fundraising Executive. A past President of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Karen was named Outstanding Fundraising Executive in 1998.
Brian Sheetz, CFRE, is Executive Director of the East Ohio United Methodist Foundation where he serves as planned giving resource to nearly 800 local churches. He is a graduate of the National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary and earned his CFRE designation in 2003. He is a highly sought-after speaker for planned giving, establishing and revising endowments and asset management.
