Basic Proposal Writing Workshop

This full-day workshop is for individuals who are new to grant seeking and proposal writing, or who want to refresh their skills. The information is geared to the needs of small to medium-size agencies. Participants will learn about:
- Getting ready for grants
- Overview of the grant seeking process
- Basic components of grant proposals
- What to write in Letters of Inquiry and short proposals
- Steps to develop a grant proposal from start to submission
- Preparing online grant submissions
- Tips to improve proposal success rates
The presenter will be Laurie S. Anderson, GPC, principal of L. Anderson Consulting, a grants consulting business launched last year. Also working part-time as the Grants & Special Projects Coordinator with the Allegheny County Library Association, Laurie has more than 25 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector. In 1992, she became the Founding Manager of the Nonprofit Resource Center at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Later, she was executive director of two small nonprofit organizations and then worked for 7 years as the Grants Manager for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. Laurie is a member of the Grant Professionals Association and received her Grants Professional Certification (GPC) in 2016.
The fee to attend this program is $30 per person, which can be paid at the door with cash or checks made payable to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Space is limited and registration is required by calling the Nonprofit Resource Center at 412.622.6277.
