KEYNOTE ​SPEAKERS:
Dr. ​Jacob ​Rugh, ​PhD
Department ​of ​Sociology, ​Brigham ​Young ​University
Dr. ​Rugh ​is ​a ​national ​expert ​on ​housing ​segregation ​issues, ​particularly ​among ​racial ​and ​ethnic ​minorities ​and ​immigrants. ​ ​His ​research ​has ​focused ​on ​the ​impact ​of ​the ​foreclosure ​crisis ​on ​immigrants ​and ​ethnic ​minorities, ​racial ​discrimination ​in ​mortgage ​lending, ​and ​racial ​and ​ethnic ​disparities ​in ​home ​ownership. ​ ​Dr. ​Rugh ​has ​presented ​his ​research ​at ​multiple ​national ​conferences. ​

Dr. ​Coulton ​is ​the ​Lillian ​F. ​Harris ​Professor ​of ​Urban ​Research ​& ​Social ​Change ​and ​the ​founder ​and ​Co-Director ​of ​the ​Center ​on ​Urban ​Poverty ​and ​Community ​Development. ​She ​is ​a ​national ​expert ​on ​using ​data ​to ​raise ​issues ​of ​equity ​and ​engage ​in ​community ​action. ​ ​Her ​research ​focuses ​on ​effects ​of ​living ​in ​segregated ​and ​distressed ​neighborhoods ​on ​individual, ​child ​and ​family ​outcomes. ​ ​Dr. ​Coulton ​is ​a ​frequent ​presenter ​at ​national ​conferences. ​

The ​summit ​will ​also ​include ​academic ​and ​community ​experts ​who ​will ​discuss ​the ​impact ​of ​segregation ​in ​housing, ​health ​and ​education ​in ​general ​with ​the ​Pittsburgh ​metro ​area ​being ​used ​as ​a ​case ​example. ​ ​ ​Opportunities ​will ​be ​provided ​for ​dialogue ​and ​discussion, ​as ​well ​as ​networking. ​Breakfast ​and ​lunch ​are ​provided, ​and ​special ​rates ​are ​available ​at ​the ​nearby ​Wyndham ​University ​Center.
