Tue, Mar 31, 2020 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM EDT
Panelists: Melanie Claxton, Coordinator of Out of School Time, Pittsburgh Public Schools Jason Perry, Field Consultant, National Summer Learning Association Katie Willse, Senior Consultant, The Learning Agenda
The National Afterschool Association is hosting a webinar to explore effective strategies for Student Recruitment and Attendance, drawing from the Wallace Foundation’s Summer Learning Toolkit, a free, online resource featuring 50+ practical tools and resources to help district and their out-of-school time partners design and deliver high-quality summer programs. Resources draw from lessons from the National Summer Learning Project (NSLP) and align with research findings by RAND, included in Getting to Work on Summer Learning, 2nd edition. Join us to explore resources and strategies that can help you communicate with families and prepare them to show up ready the first day, and coming back throughout the summer. We’ll also hear from Pittsburgh Public Schools, one of the districts featured in the National Summer Learning Project. They will share their firsthand experiences and lessons learned with student outreach and engagement.
