Twitter is a very effective means of getting the word out fast to lots of people at a time, and it rightfully prides itself on the good it can accomplish. In this class, we will look at how nonprofits that are already using Twitter can use it more effectively for storytelling, audience engagement and fundraising.

Attendees will learn:

• Digital storytelling principles and how to apply them to Twitter
• How to utilize video with Twitter’s new services
• Fundraising tips and tricks case studies
• Ways to engage an audience and how viral works
• How to craft a social media strategy,
and more!

This training is designed for intermediate and advanced users that are currently using Twitter. It is not appropriate for beginners.

The speaker will be Christopher Whitlatch. Christopher has nearly twenty years of marketing and communications experience and is recognized nationally for his digital media success. He is currently the Director of Communications at The Pittsburgh Foundation. Christopher is the marketer behind the Pittsburgh Gives campaign that has raised more than $30 million dollars and has become a national model for nonprofit organizations, inspiring the Give Local Day.

Christopher has a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from New York University. He is currently working on Don’t Be an Egg, a Twitter guide for nonprofits.
