WEBINAR: The Need for System-Level Connections for Justice-Involved Youth with Behavioral Health and Housing Needs

June 28, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

This webinar will provide a brief overview of the cycle of youth homelessness, behavioral health issues, and justice involvement, and how the overlap of those systems without collaboration among them creates barriers to addressing the needs of youth in this population and often results in young people falling through service cracks completely. Subject matter experts, including youth with lived experience, will share insights about the challenges of avoiding and escaping the cycle, and the types of assistance most needed to reduce those challenges. Particular attention will be paid to prevention and community-based interventions other than incarceration, as well opportunities for systems-coordination that re-entry planning offers to ensure continuity of behavioral health care for young people exiting justice institutions and connections to stable housing and community supports.

Gillian Morshedi, J.D., a national expert, speaker, and trainer on homelessness, will moderate this webinar. Join us for presentations and lively discussions.
