3rd Annual Dream STEAM Celebration of Black History

The Maker’s Clubhouse would like to invite you to participate in our annual “Dream STEAM” Martin Luther King Jr. Day event. Your involvement will help transform our recreation space into a community STEAM workshop that will inspire students to experience STEAM subjects in a whole new way. The event will be from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 21st, 2019) at the Worship Arts Recreation Center (717 N. Homewood Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15221).
We are requesting that you and/or members from your organization provide some type of engaging activity or game at your station such as a design challenge, hands-on training in your STEM field, prize wheel or another 15-20 minute activity. It will be a thrill to have such a unique learning atmosphere and we hope your organization is represented within it.
Our deadline for signing up to run a table is January 8, 2019, so please if I can be of assistance at all over the next few weeks, do not hesitate to contact our outreach coordinator, Michael Keefe (mkeefe@bcpgh.org, C. 402-547-1665. Event Information: Dream STEAM, Monday, January 21, 2019 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Worship Arts Recreation Center (W.A.R.M. Center)
We are requesting that members from our presenting organizations that will be at the event attend a pizza-party orientation meeting on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 4-6:00 PM so that community partners can introduce themselves to one-another and become informed about how the event will run.
We are also asking our AM presenters to set up their station some time between 8-8:30. We ask that our PM presenters set up their stations between 12-12:30. There will be ample volunteer assistance and breakfast/lunch provided for everyone. Supplies for activity tables are all available if needed (e.g. tables, chairs, electrical outlets, water, etc.) We thank you for your support in inspiring the next generation of STEAM professionals.
