APOST Professional Development Workshop: Ask-Listen-Encourage

Do you communicate with youth in a way that makes them feel supported and heard? This workshop introduces communication techniques that help you build more supportive, youth-centered relationships. Participants learn how to ask effective questions, to listen actively to youth, and offer youth encouragement rather than praise.
Objectives of the workshop are:
- understand the concept of positive, purposeful interaction with youth.
learn the characteristics of effective questions. - understand the concept of active listening.
- learn how the characteristics of effective positive responses to youth and their work.
Lunch will be provided!
