Creating a Strategic Plan That Works!

Tuesday, November 17, 2015
9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

A strategic plan should help an organization clearly define its purpose, develop a strong vision for the future, and establish agreed-upon, achievable goals and priorities that are within the organization’s capacity for implementation. A well-crafted strategic plan engages everyone and provides direction to the staff and board on how to spend their limited time and energy. Planning is both an art and a science and involves a great deal of resources, time and board and staff energy.

In this workshop, we will discuss:

• The real benefits of doing a plan (they aren’t just what you think they are)
• When you shouldn’t do a strategic plan and what you might need instead
• The planning process and when you should or shouldn’t hire a consultant
• The 5 things you need to do to create a plan that you can actually execute
• The impact your organization’s culture, nimbleness, and board and staff leadership will have on your strategic plan

The speaker is Leslie Bonner from Bonner Consulting who has been a consultant and coach for 16 years and who has worked with over 200 nonprofits on organizational assessments, strategic plans, leadership coaching, board development and alliance/exploration planning. More about Leslie and her team can be found at www.bonner-consulting.com.

The cost to attend this program is $20 per person, which includes a light continental breakfast. Space is limited and registration is required by calling the Nonprofit Resource Center at 412-622-6277.
