The Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network (PSAYDN), in collaboration with Pennsylvania Key, is offering the opportunity to apply for certification as a Program Quality Assurance System (PQAS) instructor. This two-day institute will provide the core coursework and technical support as participants create their required PQAS module for submission. By becoming a certified PQAS instructor, participants will be able to offer PQAS professional development hours for any trainings they deliver.

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM Steps to Building a Module and Review of Rubric
2:30 PM – 4:30 PM Small Group Module Building
Day 2
8:30 AM – 9:00 AM Questions from Yesterday
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Linking Standards, Curriculum Framework, and Assessment
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Lunch on Your Own
1:00 PM – 4:30 PM Small Group Work
* Take your time in completing your module based on feedback from the reviewers. Passing on the first submission will prevent you from paying an additional $70.00.
Pre-Work/What to Bring
- Create a user account on www.pakeys.org (if you do not have one).
- Gather and bring a module that you have delivered OR would like to submit for approval. If you do not have one already developed, bring materials, articles, handouts, research to develop a module. Information should be completed on the overview and module form. The PowerPoint should also be included if it has been completed. **Please note that reviewers will be available for feedback on your module in order to make changes needed before submission of the module.
- Degree, college transcripts.
- Two letters of reference dated within six months.
- Documentation of instructing adults for a minimum of 25 hours.
- Completion of Engaging Adults Learning online course.
- If you have already completed the Core Knowledge Competencies and Big Ideas Framework and/or the Linking Standards, Curriculum Framework, and Assessment and have the certificates, you will not have to attend the sessions for these trainings in the morning.
- Check or money order for $70.00.
