Teens, Hormones and Moods: Understanding Adolescent Mental Health

Familylinks and the Upper St. Clair Youth Steering Committee are hostingan expert panel discussion titled, “Teens, Hormones and Moods: Understanding Adolescent Mental Health”at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10.

This event is free and open to the public, and will be held at the Upper St. Clair Community and Recreation Center at Mayview Boyce Park,1551 Mayview Rd, Upper St Clair, PA 15241. Parents will leave this discussion with information and tools needed to become better-equipped to identify potential mental health issues teenagers may be experiencing, including depression, anxiety and other diagnoses. Familylinks also will provide information about where parents can find assistance to address those issues, along with information regarding Familylinks services that may be useful to their families.

The panelists will include to of Familylinks’ licensed adolescent therapists and Dr. Jonathan Pletcher, clinical director with the UPMC Children’s Hospital Department of Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Pletcher also is a Familylinks Board Member and lives in Upper St. Clair.
