David M. Shribman

David M. Shribman became executive editor for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on February 3, 2003. He came to Pittsburgh from The Boston Globe where he was assistant managing editor, columnist and Washington bureau chief. Mr. Shribman graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in history and did graduate work in European and African history at Cambridge University, England, as a Reynolds Scholar. His career includes working for New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, appearing on PBS news shows like Washington Week and analyzing news for the BBC and CBC. He won the Pulitzer prize in 1995 for his coverage of politics in Washington; currently he writes a weekly nationally syndicated column, “My Point” and a biweekly column for the Globe and Mail in Canada.

Rod Doss
Editor and Publisher, New Pittsburgh Courier

Rod Doss is Editor and Publisher of the New Pittsburgh Courier. He was named to this position in 1997. In his prior position he was Vice President and General Manager since 1983. He began his career with the Courier in 1967 as an advertising sales representative and advanced to Advertising Manager in 1970 and Vice President-Advertising in 1978.
Mr. Doss oversees the financial, administrative and departmental activities of the operation. Under his editorial direction the newspaper has won numerous awards including the coveted John B. Russwurm Trophy and the A. Philip Randolph Messenger Award. He is also the recipient of numerous professional and community service awards.
