Allegheny Partners for Out-of-School Time (APOST) is a partnership of funders, intermediaries and providers dedicated to building a quality OST System that will contribute to the healthy successful development of young people as they progress through their school years, graduate from high school and enter into adulthood.
Our Vision
Youth in Allegheny County will realize their fullest potential by participating in high-quality out-of-school time opportunities.
Our Mission
APOST focuses on improving quality of and access to out-of-school time opportunities through committed, collaborative and innovative efforts of community organizations, government, foundations, schools and other partners.
Values
The APOST Mission and Vision Statements are built around four core values. These values provide APOST with a solid groundwork on which to better the state of afterschool and out-of-school programming in the Pittsburgh Area.
- Positive Youth Development: Youth learn best in environments that build their competence, confidence, character, connection, and contributions to the community.
- Partnership: We will be successful only when youth, parents, schools, organizations and government are committed and work together to achieve long-term results.
- Quality: We are committed to upholding quality elements of practice in programming that promote positive youth development.
- Data Driven Decisions: APOST is committed to utilizing data for monitoring the quality, access, and impact of OST programming.
