Simple Interactions is a practice-based, strengths-focused and community driven approach to support and develop professional, youth serving adults. The method identifies and captures adult-child interactions in everyday settings, facilitate learning communities to grow and develop and communicates the science and practice of human interactions.
There are two unique opportunities to participate in Simple Interactions:
Simple Interactions Workshops
APOST facilitates SI workshops for youth-serving organizations and their staff. APOST provides this offer to all Quality Campaign members at no cost. SI is also available to non-Quality Campaign members for a fee of $1000. Previous staff participants significantly improved in their practice, reported enjoying the strengths-based workshops and valued the positive contribution to their work.
What to expect in Simple Interactions Workshops?
-Simple Interactions (SI) assistants will visit your site twice to collect video of staff interacting with youth during typical, everyday programming.
-The SI team will review the videos and strategically select clips that highlight positive staff-youth interactions.
-A Simple Interactions trainer will facilitate a 60-90 minute workshop on site to watch and discuss the strengths of the collected video clips.
-This 3-step process – filming on site, selecting clips, and the ‘watch & discuss’ workshops – occurs in 3 total workshops over 8 weeks.
I’m interested! What should I do next?
