Emily is passionate about supporting educational inequities and programming through visual creativity to help tell a story. Originally from outside the Philadelphia area, Emily brings a blended background of public relations and education programming experience. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Temple University in Strategic Communications & Community Engagement and her Master of Education from the University of Pittsburgh in Administrative Studies in Social & Comparative Analysis in Education.
In Emily’s previous work as a Site Manager for Jumpstart Pittsburgh at the University of Pittsburgh, she managed programming focused on mentoring college students in their direct service in preschool classrooms. By blending together the environments of early childhood education and higher education, Emily is happy to now blend in her marketing and communication work to OST programs with APOST. Previous to Jumpstart, she worked with organizations focused on providing public relations strategies for non-profit work in Philadelphia and is eager to support APOST’s work through communication practices to gain support for advocacy for OST providers in Allegheny County. Emily will be facilitating APOST’s communications (including our “News You Can Use” newsletter and social media), supporting OST providers in their promotional needs, and aims to use joy and creativity to foster learning experiences.
