Grants Cafe: The Grant Decision-Makers Perspective When Seeking Funding

July 31, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Wednesday, July 31, 2019
12:00 PM to 1:30 PM

Topic: The Grant Decision-Makers Perspective
When seeking funding, you may be looking at your proposal one way, but are those who view your request seeing the information in the same way? This session will provide an interactive Giving Circle panel and group discussion to better understand the human element in reviewing and decision-making that is a fundamental part of the grant process. How much work can it be to “give away” money? Come to the July Grants Cafe to find out!

Fred Newman has decades of grants experience and has been involved in numerous grant review processes during a 30-year career with the United Way, several years with the North Carolina Office of Economic Opportunity, and as a Foundation Board Member. He has worked with several nonprofit organizations and written proposals for millions of dollars in grants.

The Grants Cafe meets on the LAST WEDNESDAY of the month, except August and December when there are no meetings. Topics and guest speakers will be posted by mid-month. Please suggest issues you’d like to discuss, and be sure to check back regularly as we update monthly events. Thank you!
